What is Destination Marketing?
Destination marketing is a marketing approach in the travel industry that involves promoting a specific location and its benefits instead of the specific product or service that a single business offers.
Put another way, Destination Marketing could be explained as selling the virtues of the “sizzle” not the “sausage”. An example might be promoting the island as brilliant landbased whale watching with awesome imagery on socials. Successful marketing will attract people to the North Gorge and they will travel by ferry and bus, walk the Gorge and then eat fish and chips and gelati.
Most types of Straddie businesses benefit directly and indirectly from increased visitation to the island and tourism will continue to be a key industry in the future.
The Straddie Chamber of Commerce works with Redland City Council, Brisbane Economic Development and Tourism Queensland to promote Straddie, improve the visitor experience and provide industry development opportunities for local businesses.
StradbrokeIsland.com and the Chamber’s socials, including Twitter, Facebook and Instragram, are curated in partnership with award winning digital agency – Reborn. See details of our partnership here.
